Born and raised in the Southeastern burbs of Philadelphia, I have been absorbing art and photography my whole life. My mother is a self-taught artist and my father always had his Petri 35mm camera close by documenting our family. I would impatiently wait days, for his slides or prints to be processed and picked up from the local Fotomat. I would anxiously wait for his monthly issue of Camera Arts magazine to arrive in the mail, spending hours in each publication studying fine art photographers and their work, creating a passion and love for black and white photography. I cherish these old issues, which are still on my shelf.
My earliest recollection of taking pictures was in 1977 while on a 3rd grade field trip to Dutch Wonderland Amusement Park, in Lancaster, PA. Amazingly, at such a young age, my parents trusted me with their Kodak Instamatic 104 camera loaded with a roll of Kodachrome slide film. I posted the gallery of images below.
These early influences and memories, as well as the teachings and critiques from my BFA in Photography, have lead me to a love for photography.
A graduate of Pennsylvania State University earning a BFA in Photography, I currently reside in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
